I have like everyone else heard umpteen stories about the Eiffel. Travelling was always on my cards and bucket list but less that I knew I would get the love of my life from the city of love as they call it~ Paris! Yes, I got engaged and in no time married but that is enough of me. The reason I shared this leads to my experience and travel to Paris. I had been there for a short trip to visit my new inherited family and of course my fiancé (back then before we were married) had planned a visit to the magical tower. I like to call the Eiffel the magical tower due to the sole reason of its glittering lights that bring out the sparkle in my eye and turn me into a happy kid who was just awarded with a Cadbury!
I still remember the scenario when we were driving towards the Eiffel and my heart was beating with excitement. The fastest way to get there is through Metro even. Seeing Eiffel in post cards or having key chains for the longest time and then finally standing right in front of it is a breathtaking experience in itself!
I literally had goose bumps while walking towards the magnificent tower and once you reach there you shall not be able to take your eyes off the enormous beauty of 324 metres (1,063 ft) tall in front of you! Being the most visited monument in the world, it was once criticized by some of France’s leading artists and intellectuals for its design, but it has now become a global cultural icon of France and most importantly one of the wonders of the world. the Eiffel tower named after the engineer Gustav Eiffel has a few replicates built on inspiration too.
The tower has three levels for its visitors, with restaurants, a souvenir shop, a screen reflecting on information about Eiffel Tower and its history on the first floor with glass flooring’s and second floor. The tickets can be purchased online or on the venue itself to ascend by stairs or lift to its levels. The climb from ground level to the first level is over 300 steps which is quiet a climb, although we preferred taking the lift after waiting in an hour-long Que. You cover the journey in the lift in seconds. Once you are up there having the best moment of your life with the colourful view it is all worth in the end.
By the time we drove there it took us a while to reach right up since we had a memory card to be filled with photos to be captured and drown in the amazing view it was serving us. We picked up late evening for the visit to have witness the beautifully lit up city. The staff there is accommodating too and guide us well through queries (if any). Once on the second floor the view is very clear, and you can witness the widely splashed gardens surrounding the Eiffel with a plunging view.
At this point I could not wait to reach the top and witness the view from the crown of Eiffel up there! We took another life to get to the top level and just a in moments we were left freezing in the cold gushing breeze but I got through it just to reach out and see the non-ending city lights wide spread glittering lights on the bridges hovered on the river seen or the Arc de Triomphe and further witnessing the Sacré-Cœur the most visited monuments in Paris. Since I had read about the history if Eiffel I was very eager to look into the apartment where Gustavo Eiffel once carried out meteorological observations, and also used the tower to perform experiments on the action of air resistance. It is said he use to attend to all his important meetings there and stayed with his daughter after the completion of the tower. I was just glued to its view for the longest time and tried to soak it all in.
You know what they say, make the 1st your best. So, I made my 1st visit worth remembering for a lifetime. Eiffel tower being in the list of visits of most travelers leaves with an awe-struck experience with its architectural structure, it is view and a lifetime memory of standing on top of the world feeling. which cant be expressed in words literally. I did get a few souvenirs and did some purchases but from the vendors across the street. Take it from me you really would love to witness the last striking glimmering lights of the Eiffel at 1 am sharp, you will thank me later. I wish I could conclude my blog here but there is so much more to my visit than i just poured here. Stay blessed!
